University Retirement Community, Davis' premier upscale senior living community, is seeking an experienced Part-Time Pastry Cook to join our team of culinary professionals to create awesome food for our fine-dining restaurant, upscale casual Bistro, catering services, and/or all other areas of our culinary program. We are not a nursing home or retirement community. At our luxury, resort-like community, we are driven to provide our residents with the best food the Davis Area has to offer, so our residents don’t need to leave home for an incredible culinary experience. Come join us in pushing the envelope! As an entry-level Pastry Cook, you will produce basic preparation-style items for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner for residents and/or staff meals. At the direction of the Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine and/or Cook Lead, you will be assigned specific duties to ensure that all items needed for meals or events are prepared at the time needed. You will adhere to all established Dining Services policies and procedures. The successful candidate will find great satisfaction in making people happy through food—rock stars do it with guitars and drums; we do it with knives, the best ingredients we can find, and awesome skills.
