This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, production, and execution of all food menu items. The Pastry Cook will interact with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. Essential functions include anticipating and accommodating guest needs, handling allergy and dietary restrictions, assisting with inventory and prep lists, accurately following orders from the POS system and/or expeditor, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of their station, the kitchen, and the venue. The role requires in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes, general knowledge of the venue, and compliance with Department of Health and company sanitation standards. The Pastry Cook will work as part of a team, communicate product needs to chefs and support staff, check cover counts, BEOs, and/or Fire Sheets, and properly set up their station with opening/closing procedures including stocking, setting 'mise en place' following FIFO and company standards, sanitizing, and performing side-work. They must report equipment breakage or damage immediately, attend pre-service meetings and training sessions, learn by observing and sharing knowledge, and maintain a positive and professional attitude. The role also involves demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments, and assisting with additional tasks as assigned.
