This role is responsible for ensuring the quality, consistency, production, and execution of all food menu items. The Pastry Cook will interact with fellow team members and supervisors in a polite and courteous manner to ensure gracious hospitality. This position requires anticipating and accommodating guest needs, handling allergy and dietary restrictions, assisting with inventory and prep lists, and accurately following orders from the POS system or expediter. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the station, kitchen, and venue is crucial, as is following supervisor instructions and supporting co-workers. The role demands in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes and general venue knowledge, compliance with health and sanitation standards, and effective teamwork. Communication of product needs to chefs and support staff is essential. The Pastry Cook will be required to check cover counts, BEOs, and/or Fire Sheets, and properly set up their station, including stocking supplies, setting "mise en place" following FIFO and company standards, wiping down and sanitizing the station, and performing opening and closing side-work. Reporting any breakage or damage to equipment or furniture immediately to management is required. The role also involves attending daily pre-service meetings, training sessions, and departmental meetings, learning by observing and sharing knowledge, and leading by example. A positive and professional attitude is expected, along with demonstrating knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners, and supporting hotel environments. The Pastry Cook will work as part of a team, providing help and support to all fellow team members, and will assist with or complete additional tasks as assigned.
