This role offers pastoral care, spiritual guidance, religious programming, and support during times of transition, illness, grief, and celebration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or a minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE).
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in spirituality, pastoral counseling, gerontology, dementia, Alzheimer's care, and related ministry areas.
  • Understanding of and willingness to abide by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Ethical and Religious Directives (ERD).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, leadership, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with residents, families, staff, volunteers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Comfort ministering to individuals from diverse faith traditions and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and lead a variety of spiritual and religious programs and services.
  • Provide compassionate spiritual care to residents experiencing chronic physical, cognitive, or mental health challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to support resident care plans and quality of life initiatives.
  • Supervise and coordinate volunteers supporting ministry activities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation and resident records.
  • Support hospice services and provide pastoral care during end-of-life situations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to provide pastoral services across campus, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Uphold confidentiality, ethical standards, and all St. Camillus policies and procedures.
  • Conduct spiritual assessments and provide ongoing pastoral visits to residents.
  • Facilitate religious services, prayer opportunities, and sacramental ministry when qualified.
  • Provide spiritual guidance and emotional support to residents, families, and employees.
  • Support families during illness, grief, loss, funerals, and memorial services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate on resident care planning.
  • Contribute to Clinical Pastoral Education programming and mentor CPE students.
  • Develop meaningful activities that encourage resident engagement, reflection, and connection.
