About The Position

The Paste Delivery Operator is responsible for operating equipment to transfer tomato paste, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a clean work environment. This role involves manual labor, record-keeping, and adherence to company policies, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety regulations. The operator will also be responsible for monitoring and reporting food safety and quality issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out instructions while performing manual labor related tasks.
  • Must be able to successfully use basic math and writing skills necessary to complete the required paperwork.
  • Good Communication Skills.
  • Accurate.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Able to handle pressure.
  • Able to work well with others.
  • Multi-task oriented.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to operate basic electrical switches.
  • Must be able to climb stairs or ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Empty tomato paste or tomatoes into the ribbon blender and transfer to the proper paste tank.
  • Follow instructions to achieve desired brix standards.
  • Open lids on paste bins to prepare for blending.
  • Keep proper records on paste Dumper sheets and account for all bins used.
  • Keep extractor and areas clean at all times.
  • Break down wooden bins and stack wood, tagging with appropriate supplier paper.
  • Sweep paste dock area.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Adhere to all Red Gold policies, rules, and regulations, including GMP’s and safety.
  • Work as a team player with members of the crew and others in the plant.
  • Monitor, record, and take appropriate actions for specific Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
  • Report food safety and quality issues to management.
