About The Position

The Passive Safety Homologation Specialist is the in -house regulatorycompliance lead for various systems and components. This Specialist willserve as the subject matter expert for topics related to North Americapassive safety and electrified propulsion safety regulatory compliance. Additionally, this Specialist will be the North American regulatorycompliance lead contact for inquiries regarding these topics from ourglobal counterparts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering degree from an ABETaccredited university. Other Engineering degrees with combinedexperience will be considered.
  • Minimum THREE (3) years of engineering experience
  • Experience in systems and sub -systems with Electrical, RF, Chassis , Exterior and interior engineering release experience.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of the global regulations thatcover the Safety/Impact, Chassis or Electrical regulations and workwith, and lead, cross -functional teams (e.g. engineering, manufacturing,quality, service, legal, witness agency and labs) to ensure successfulcompliance testing completion prior to defined due dates
  • Automotive regulatory background, program management and automotive testing
  • Onsite
  • Driving a company;s vehicle required – yes/periodically

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university

Responsibilities

  • Lead the certification strategy and execution for all passivesafety systems, including occupant protection, crash structures,interior safety components, and restraint systems.
  • Support Engineering to ensure designs meet global passivesafety regulations, including FMVSS, ECE, GB, and other internationalstandards.
  • Develop and manage detailed certification plans, includingtesting schedules, documentation requirements, and agency interactions.
  • Interface with regulatory authorities and third -party labs tosecure approvals and negotiate acceptance of compliance documentation.
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and provide internal guidance to ensure future programs remain compliant.
  • Represent the homologation function in design reviews, milestone meetings, and global program discussions.
  • Team members are expected to establish effective workingrelationships, founded on trust and transparency, with our internal andexternal partners. Sound judgment, excellent communication skills andthe ability to drive decisions through consensus and influence changeare a must.
