About The Position

National Youth Advocate Program is accepting internship applications for the Spring, 2027 in our Columbus region for the PASS/Healthy Ways internship. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience working with youth and adolescents in our PASS program, which is part of the Behavioral Health Team. You will also have the opportunity to observe other therapeutic areas throughout the agency to gain insight into the communities and clients we serve. This position works closely with youth, families, foster parents, and community partners.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Master level Social Work or Master’s level Clinical Counseling program required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.
• Enrolled in an accredited institution for a Master’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services Field.
• An internship or field placement is a requirement by the institution.
• Upon the completion of the internship, the individual would receive credit toward their pursued degree.
• LSW, SWT or CT licensure require
• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal transportation
• Good driving record
• Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability

Responsibilities

• Providing appropriate individual, group, and family mental health services, case management, transportation, and other professional services, meeting or exceeding established outcomes thresholds on behalf of persons served.
• Traveling as needed, to provide community-based services to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Completing all required documentation in a timely manner.
• Completing all required training in a timely manner.
• Coordinating and monitoring services for the youth and family in the community, including mental health, medical, educational, psychological, vocational, and social services.
• Regularly reviewing and modifying youth-based plans to assure consistent progress and success on written plan goals.
• Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with assigned foster parents and families of origin.
• Providing safety assessment, crisis response, and behavioral stabilization services as required to assure safety and stability for youth served.
• Actively participates in the weekly supervision process.
