About The Position

The Party Host is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating events, including children's birthday parties, within a Michaels store. The goal is to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. This role also involves delivering friendly customer service, assisting customers with shopping and checkout, and completing operational tasks such as truck unloading and merchandise duties. The Party Host will engage with clients of all ages, demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and manage party add-ons. Communication with clients and the store team, administrative tasks, and ensuring client satisfaction are key aspects of this position. Upholding cleanliness and safety standards, including setup, breakdown, and cleaning before and after events, is also required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including kids birthday parties and craft classes.
  • Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity.
  • Demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects.
  • Perform face painting and other activities.
  • Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags and balloons.
  • Communicate events with clients and store team members.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork.
  • Adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs.
  • Create backup or emergency plans as needed.
  • Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
  • Uphold company cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
  • Help customers shop, locate products, and provide solutions.
  • Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
  • Engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
  • Educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey.
  • Assist with Omni channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
  • Participate in truck un-load, stocking, and planogram (POGs) processes.
  • Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance.
  • Perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
  • Support shrink and safety programs.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs.
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner.
  • Cross train in Custom Framing selling and production.
  • Participate in daily store cleanliness activities.
