About The Position

This role encompasses two primary functions: Parts Warehouse operations and Parts Delivery Driving. Warehouse staff are responsible for organizing and managing parts inventory, fulfilling orders, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Delivery drivers are responsible for transporting parts to customers, ensuring accurate and timely deliveries, and assisting with warehouse tasks when not on the road. The position requires adherence to company policies, professional conduct, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle operated and keep it with them at all times while operating the vehicle.
  • Abide by Company Vehicle Driving Guidelines.
  • Make between 16 and 18 deliveries and pickups per day, comprised of at least four runs.
  • Place parts where the customer wants them in the customer’s facility.
  • Check every order against the invoice for accuracy.
  • Bring any incorrect part numbers and/or missing parts to the Dispatcher’s attention.
  • Pick up dirty cores from customer facilities each time a delivery is made and cores are available.
  • Tag cores before pickup.
  • Have communication devices on and be reachable.
  • Ensure all pertinent paperwork is signed when transacting directly with the customer.
  • Call the dealership to get approval for checks received from customers.
  • Correctly and completely fill out the “Houston Freightliner, Sterling, Western Star Route Sheet”.
  • Assist in picking parts for next set of deliveries while in the warehouse.
  • Assist in warehouse work if there are no pending deliveries.
  • Stand and walk for up to 4 continuous hours per day.
  • Remain in a stationary, seated position for up to 4 continuous hours per day.
  • Traverse the department and/or dealership for up to 6 continuous hours per day.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently reach, bend, push and pull.
  • Ascend and descend stairs and move items up to 25 lbs.
  • Ascend and descend a ladder and move up to 10 lbs.
  • Move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Inspect and recognize.
  • Operate a computer.

Nice To Haves

  • Communicate safety hazards immediately to their manager.
  • Immediately take note of stock discrepancies and pass them to their manager.
  • Communicate with the Warehouse Manager when the number of orders pending picking exceeds 30 minutes of work.
  • Bring to the Warehouse Manager’s attention any parts that cannot be located.
  • Notify the Warehouse Manager of parts that are in short supply and also located at other warehouses.
  • Communicate with warehouse manager when a problem is identified.
  • Notify the Warehouse Manager at the end of each day of orders that are not claimed by a salesperson.
  • Notify the selling salesperson and the Warehouse Manager of incoming external sales orders from courier via email.
  • Notify the selling salesperson, the Service Manager and the Warehouse Manager of incoming shop sales orders from courier via email.
  • Charge freight as necessary when salespeople have failed to bill it and also bring this to the Warehouse Manager’s attention.
  • Give the Warehouse Manager a copy of all RGAs.
  • Any reasonable request our customers make is to be cheerfully accepted and performed.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage parts inventory.
  • Fulfill parts orders for delivery, will call, and counter sales.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, including inventory, trash removal, and recycling.
  • Process incoming and outgoing freight and deliveries.
  • Prepare and ship return merchandise authorizations (RGAs).
  • Operate company vehicles safely and courteously.
  • Make between 16 and 18 deliveries and pickups per day.
  • Place parts where the customer requests them within their facility.
  • Pick up dirty cores from customer facilities.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and managers regarding deliveries and issues.
  • Assist with picking parts for deliveries while in the warehouse.
  • Assist with warehouse work when no pending deliveries exist.
  • Act in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Behave professionally.
  • Work at least 40 hours per week and be available to work weekends.
  • Keep the Parts Department clean and professional.
  • Go above and beyond for high-profile customers.
  • Stay up to date with training requirements.
  • Treat provided tools with care and keep the workplace tidy.
  • Operate company equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer specifications and vehicle laws.
  • Promptly report suspicious or illicit behavior.
  • Wear company-issued uniform at all times.
  • Perform miscellaneous work-related tasks as directed by their manager.
  • Work a complete month to receive any awarded bonus in the event of separation of employment.
