About The Position

The Parts Transfer Driver will transfer parts to all Company stores to assure a good quantity of inventory on hand for our customers. The Parts Transfer Driver will assist in the parts warehouse as needed.

Requirements

  • The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing or verbally so others will understand
  • The ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Must have a valid driver's license and must meet insurability requirements with the Company's insurance company
  • CDL required
  • Operate a computer and other office machines on a daily basis (i.e., calculator, copy machine and computer printers)
  • Work in all kinds of weather outdoors as needed
  • Employee will be required to lift up to 100 pounds on a daily basis
  • On a daily basis will sit, stand, walk, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb, balance, reach, handle, and feel
  • Daily talking, hearing, and seeing
  • Perform routine inspection on the delivery truck for needed maintenance
  • Extensive driving daily
  • High School diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice To Haves

  • Previous delivery experience helpful
  • Intermediate computer skills preferred
  • Previous delivery experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift and other equipment as needed
  • Load and unload the transfer truck
  • Check all load related documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate before leaving the warehouse
  • Deliver parts to all company locations and unload the truck in the designated area
  • Maintain log of driving hours
  • Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment in order to ensure proper working condition
  • Report any mechanical problems with the truck
  • Assist in the warehouse when needed
  • Assist cycle count of parts inventory
  • Fulfill training requirements as directed
  • Attend scheduled parts meetings
