About The Position

Chinook Equipment in Pincher Creek is looking for a Parts Technician to join their expanding team. This role offers the opportunity to serve customers in the parts department while also gaining experience in service operations by assisting the Service Manager with writing work orders for equipment repairs. Chinook Equipment also operates the NAPA Auto Parts Franchise.

Requirements

• Parts counter experience in heavy equipment, automotive or working with a private/third party parts retailer
• Committed team player with the ability to work independently and as a team
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills including the ability to use tact, sensitivity, empathy and professionalism when interacting with customers and employees over the phone and in-person.
• Strong attention to detail with automotive/equipment systems aptitude and a demonstrated computer efficiency
• The ability to perform physical work which includes repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs
• Valid Drivers License
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record check

Responsibilities

• Assist all customers in sourcing and ordering parts in a friendly, professional and efficient manner
• Take orders for parts by telephone, email, retail counter and for our internal technicians
• Provide accurate parts and freight quotes to customers
• Inform customers of companion part requirements and specials
• Maintain effective communication within the department and with other departments/individuals in the branch (keeping them informed of the status of back-ordered or special-order parts to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs, etc.)
• Accurately process all customer transactions such as returns, orders, quotes
• Assist the Service Manager in writing work orders for equipment repair
• Assist in parts driving/pick up and yearly inventory counts
