About The Position

The primary role of the Parts Specialist is to maintain parts inventory for the maintenance department.

Requirements

• Knowledge of truck parts and inventorying.
• Knowledge of software used in inventorying, invoicing, ordering, etc.
• Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Search Engines and Google Maps.
• Ability to properly track, acquire and maintain inventory.
• Ability to actively listen to mechanics requests and react timely and efficiently.
• Ability to mentor and maintain a positive attitude with coworkers.
• Ability to proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability.
• Ability to contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers.
• Ability to take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
• Ability to effectively and concisely communicate both orally and in writing.
• One year working in the field of parts management using tracking software required.
• Clean driving record required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the waste and recycling industry a plus.
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Knowledge of Fleetio software preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains adequate and organized inventory of parts used by mechanics for repairs and preventive maintenance services.
• Checks all incoming purchases against invoices and stocks parts in appropriate locations.
• Orders parts when needed.
• Assigns purchase order numbers and maintains records in relation to parts orders.
• Picks up and delivers parts from various locations throughout Southern California.
