About The Position

The Parts Specialist provides retail and installer customers with a high level of service and supports store management in completing assigned tasks. The role involves assisting customers in person and by phone, processing sales and returns, maintaining merchandise and inventory, and performing operational duties. After completing applicable training and meeting company requirements, the specialist may operate store test equipment and perform certain in-store vehicle services where state and local laws permit. The position may occasionally require driving a delivery vehicle when business needs dictate, subject to company driving eligibility requirements. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, the Weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service.
• ASE certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote company customer service programs, including Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, and Rock the Lot.
• Promptly greet retail and walk-in customers courteously and help them select merchandise.
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers as directed.
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
• Answer store phone calls according to company policy; look up parts and quote prices accurately, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee.
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer; accept cash and checks, make accurate change, and process credit card transactions.
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, freight receiving, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning.
• Prepare new, core, and warranty merchandise returns for shipment to the distribution center; assist with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts.
• Operate the brake lathe and other store test equipment after completing required training and meeting company requirements.
• Perform in-store customer services where permitted by state and local laws, such as installing wipers, testing and charging batteries, testing charging systems, scanning vehicle trouble codes, and replacing headlight capsules.
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate, subject to company driving eligibility requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
