About The Position

The Parts Specialist position involves assisting customers at the front counter and over the phone with parts orders and resolving any issues. This role requires locating parts using various resources, including online vendor systems and in-house books. The specialist will also work closely with Product Support Representatives, handle customer complaints diplomatically, and manage incoming and outgoing shipments. Key responsibilities include maintaining a reference guide for common parts, entering orders into the system, organizing back-ordered parts, and preparing shipments. The role also supports the service department with their parts needs and involves pulling parts for customers. A mechanical background is helpful but not mandatory.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s license and acceptable MVR
  • Must be able to successfully hold certifications for MSHA, Forklift, First Aid/ CPR, etc.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Must successfully pass a background check, post-offer drug screen, DOT physical and WorkSTEPS FCT
  • Proficient utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use.
  • Advanced technical software application understanding with relevant industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High School diploma, Trade School or previous experience preferred
  • Mechanical background is helpful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers at the front counter, answering incoming calls and attending to parts orders and or problems.
  • Locating desired parts in a wide variety of parts books, both on-line with vendors and in-house resource books.
  • Working closely with Product Support Representatives and assisting them in parts orders for customers.
  • Diplomatically handling customers' complaints in a friendly, pleasing and personal manner.
  • Loading, unloading and moving materials within or near warehouse plant or worksite.
  • Examining goods shipped and verifying the completeness of shipments against bill of lading, invoices, and other records.
  • Keeping a "Quick Reference" guide for all common parts.
  • Entering all parts orders into the system.
  • Organizing all back-ordered parts and arranging the desired shipping logistics.
  • Routing incoming shipments/goods to respective departments.
  • Counting and comparing quantity and identification numbers of units against order.
  • Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or forklift.
  • Preparing products for shipment.
  • Preparing identifying information/ shipping instructions on containers.
  • Pulling stock orders, inventory & stocking warehouse shop orders.
  • Assisting in any parts needs the service department may have and providing support whenever needed.
  • Pulling parts for customers when needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the parts manager.
