About The Position

We are looking for a customer-focused individual to join our parts team in East Moline, IL. We offer paid, on-the-job training to prepare you for success and career progression opportunities. In this role, you will perform a variety of in-store customer service, promoting, and stocking duties related to receiving, sale, and delivery of parts and accessories. There is extensive contact with external customers, both in-person and over the phone. Additionally, you will be working with a number of mechanics and shop foreman from our service department under general supervision.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including (but not limited to); PFW, Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Effectively handle lifting various objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a customer service position is preferred.
  • Prior experience working a parts counter is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reading catalogs, schematics and computer displays in order to determine replacement part/s and pricing.
  • Determining replacements part(s) required according to inspection of old parts, customers’ request or customers’ description of malfunction.
  • Receiving shipments of order, placing machine down and stock orders.
  • Taking a complete inventory, marking and storing parts according to prearranged systems.
  • Examining parts for defects, and exchange of defective parts.
  • Advising customers on substitution or modification of parts.
  • Receiving and filling telephone orders.
  • Filling customer orders from stock.
  • Preparing invoices, pic-packs and sales receipts.
  • Be proficient in underground tooling.
  • Provide guidance to customers when selecting the right chemical solution for HDD application.
  • Visit customers regularly to service customer consignments.
  • Form good rapport with all parts of the business.
  • Work alongside with the Sales team members, HDD & Vac Truck Specialists.
  • Maintaining a clean / organized work environment.
