About The Position

This role is for a Parts Specialist in the Fleet Department. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys fast-paced days and problem-solving. The position is essential to keeping the City moving by ensuring technicians have the right parts at the right time for over 2,200 vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities include ordering, inventory management, vendor coordination, and customer service at the parts window.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 6 months of automotive, truck, or heavy equipment parts experience
Working knowledge of vehicle or equipment components
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the shift
Valid Indiana driver's license

Nice To Haves

Inventory systems or fleet software experience (Faster or similar preferred)
Basic math and recordkeeping skills
Comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced shop environment
Strong communication and customer service mindset

Responsibilities

Issue parts, tools, and shop supplies quickly and accurately to technicians and departments
Order, receive, inspect, and stock parts while maintaining organized inventory and records
Coordinate with vendors and drive to local suppliers for pickups when needed
Process warranties, returns, core credits, and reconcile daily deliveries
Enter and track all parts activity in Faster software and follow purchasing guidelines
