The Part Sales role maintains and controls boat, motor, trailer and ATV parts inventory and assist external and internal customers with purchases of or questions regarding parts. This role supports a strong commitment to world-class customer service and ensures a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers. The position involves receiving inquiries from customers regarding retail parts, price quotes, or general information via phone or at the parts counter. It requires researching customer inquiries using various resources, performing part sales transactions, and safeguarding funds received while performing till reconciliation procedures daily. The role also includes creating purchase orders for parts needed for stock, customer, or work order requirements, receiving ordered parts, and verifying shipping documents against merchandise received for accuracy. Data entry of received parts into the inventory tracking system, placing merchandise in designated locations, and verifying payment before special order parts are shipped are also key responsibilities. Additionally, the role involves issuing parts to technicians and riggers as per work order requirements, entering issued parts into the inventory system, and verifying/completing refund transactions for returned parts or cancellations. Ensuring returned and warranty parts are sent back to the appropriate vendor for credit and preparing for and conducting required parts inventories are also part of the job. Finally, the role requires reporting and reconciling any inventory shortages or parts variances and maintaining a clean and professional work area.
