About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the parts room, including receiving, stocking, and issuing items. The attendant must have basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components, as well as processing and packaging equipment used in a bakery setting. The role requires the ability to follow directions, communicate effectively, maintain good housekeeping, and be responsible and self-motivated. The attendant is also responsible for the security of the tool room and must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s), safety, health, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing components.
  • Basic knowledge of types of processing and packaging equipment used in the bakery.
  • Ability and willingness to follow directions as issued by supervisor.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Polite and possess good housekeeping characteristics.
  • Responsible and self-motivated.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers.
  • Ability to see, hear and talk.
  • Ability to work in light to moderate noise levels; hearing protection may be required.
  • Communicate in English to give and acknowledge instructions and problems.
  • Physical and mental ability to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment in close proximity to others.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Possess basic math skills for counting, adding and subtracting.
  • Ability to work in wet, humid areas.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form.
  • Ability to work well with others in stressful situations and meet deadlines as necessary.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and tasks.
  • Receptive to new ideas, concepts and/or procedures.
  • Receptive and responsive to constructive criticism.

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and stocking items.
  • Pick and issue items.
  • Return item to stock.
  • Inventory audits as requested or necessary.
  • Practice good housekeeping, including clean up at end of shift.
  • Responsible for security of tool room.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (G.M.P.’s) at all times.
  • Verbal communication of instructions, problems, etc. to co-workers, supervisors and employees from all departments.
  • Meet Company attendance standards of start and end time for work as scheduled.
  • Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law.
  • Complies with Company rules, regulations and policies.
  • Any foreign materials found in product or ingredients need to be reported to a supervisor immediately.
