About The Position

Farris Family of Dealerships is accepting applications for a Parts Manager role. This is a leadership position with real authority, accountability, and earning potential, focused on running a department, growing a team, and being compensated for results. The company is a family-owned dealership group operating since 1929, recognized as a top-performing service operation. The ideal candidate will own, optimize, and manage the parts department to ensure service operations never slow down waiting for a part. This role requires daily coaching, training, and accountability with the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of parts management experience at a franchised dealership.
  • Proven track record of controlling obsolescence and improving turns without sacrificing fill rate.
  • Strong working knowledge of parts department financials and DMS reporting.
  • Experience developing and holding a parts team accountable.
  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and a clear communicator with both the service team and Fixed Ops leadership.
  • Able to handle vendor relationships, backorder escalations, and internal conflict resolution professionally.
  • Drive, motivation, and a winner's mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • OEM brand experience preferred; Ford, Jeep, or Ram experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily parts department operations including counter sales, special orders, and internal fulfillment for service.
  • Drive department performance across key metrics: fill rate, inventory turns, obsolescence control, and parts gross profit through disciplined inventory management and expense control.
  • Develop and coach parts counter staff on accuracy, speed, customer communication, and internal service support.
  • Coordinate with Service on day-to-day operations.
  • Monitor stock order utilization and ensure parts availability aligns with service demand and repair order volume.
  • Track and report lost sales to make better stocking decisions.
  • Review daily and monthly financial performance and present results to ownership and Fixed Ops Director.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM parts policies, warranty parts retention requirements, and return procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professionally run parts operation.
