About The Position

Mercedes-Benz of Palo Alto is seeking an experienced Parts Manager to lead all parts department operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the high standards of a sophisticated, high-expectation guest base in Silicon Valley. The Parts Manager will ensure technicians have the necessary parts, manage inventory effectively, and drive department performance to meet brand demands. Requirements

  • 3+ years of parts manager experience in a franchised dealership.
  • Strong command of parts department financials, including fill rate, gross profit, inventory turn, and obsolescence management.
  • Deep familiarity with OEM parts systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead a parts team.
  • Process-oriented with strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
  • Comfortable with DMS platforms.
  • Clear communicator who works effectively with service managers, advisors, and technicians.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Mercedes-Benz or luxury brand experience strongly preferred.
  • Mercedes-Benz Star Parts or equivalent experience a significant advantage.
  • Reynolds & Reynolds or CDK experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all parts department operations, including managing inventory, staffing, vendor relationships, and daily workflow to support a high-performing service department.
  • Drive parts department profitability by owning gross profit, fill rates, inventory turn, and obsolescence control.
  • Develop and hold accountable a parts team, building capability, accuracy, and a culture of consistent execution.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and implement corrective actions proactively.
  • Manage Mercedes-Benz OEM parts programs, warranty parts processes, and manufacturer return procedures with full compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor and OEM relationships to ensure parts availability and optimize program participation.
  • Partner closely with service management to align parts supply with service demand, minimizing delays and keeping technicians productive.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined receiving, cycle counts, and bin organization standards.
