About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is a premium commercial brand medium to heavy truck dealership seeking a Parts Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the parts department. The goal is to run a profitable and efficient department through proper purchasing, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising. The Parts Manager will act as an investment advisor and profit producer, supervising approximately 47 employees. This role is based in Chandler, AZ, with working hours Monday-Friday between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent
Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in parts department of trucking industry
Supervisory experience
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the parts department.
Running a profitable and efficient parts department.
Implementing proper purchasing procedures.
Managing inventory control.

Managing pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising of parts.
Acting as an investment advisor and profit producer.
Supervising approximately 47 employees.
Determining vehicle condition under supervision by conducting preventive maintenance inspections, oil changes, chassis lubrication while identifying worn and damaged parts, installing component and part upgrades on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and other equipment.
Performing inspections under supervision at customers location with a service truck which could include inclement weather at times.
Maintaining the service truck to standard including cleanliness and resupply.
Performing service calls dispatching to provide diagnosis and repairs related to vehicle breakdowns.
Correcting vehicle deficiencies identified by repairing, replacing, adjusting, disassembling and assembling, components in all major equipment system areas.
Verifying vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
Performing tire replacements, rotations, mounting and dismounting on and off of vehicles as needed.
Complying with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
Maintaining vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Containing costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
