About The Position
Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is seeking a Parts Front Counter Associate to join their team. This role is crucial for the success of the parts department, acting as the primary point of contact for customers. The associate will be responsible for selling truck repair products and services, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring customer satisfaction. Key duties include pulling parts, handling returns, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the parts department, and contributing to merchandise displays. The position requires a commitment to superior customer service, prompt customer greeting, and effective resolution of concerns while upholding ethical business practices. Requirements
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Three years or more experience with heavy-duty trucks and parts
- OEM Dealer experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of truck engines, transmissions and rear axles
- Knowledge of after-market vendors
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment and mechanical parts
- Proficient in relevant computer applications
- Required language proficiency to effectively communicate with customers
- Ability to effectively listen
- Ability to interpret customer needs
- Self-motivated
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination (including a lift test), and background check.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in customer service environment preferred
- Data Entry and strong typing skills preferred
Responsibilities
- Sells products for the repair of trucks according to customers’ needs
- Sells services for the repair of trucks to meet customer needs
- Maintains customer goodwill by greeting and acknowledging all customers
- Answers customer inquiries
- Fulfills customer requests
- Sells additional parts and services by recognizing opportunities to up-sell
- Follows prescribed cash, credit and check processing procedures of the dealership
- Pulls parts for customers
- Receives returns from customers
- Assists in keeping parts department clean and orderly
- Records all sales and/or customer transactions
- Assists Parts Manager with merchandise displays
- Maintains the retail sale floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealership’s standards and customer satisfaction
- Performs routine housekeeping tasks that maintain and enhance the cleanliness of products and the retail sales area
- Uses dealership equipment and resources safely and proficiently
- Greets customers immediately in a courteous manner
- Assists in resolving customer complaints and concerns and ensures the problem is corrected to the customer and dealership’s satisfaction
- Treats customers fairly and honestly and demonstrates company’s commitment to superior customer service and ethical business practices
- Performs cashiering functions after hours
- Answers telephone calls after hours
