Parts Fabricator
About The Position
The Parts Fabricator ensures smooth job transitions, organizes the workforce, maintains production, verifies quality and quantity, and completes special projects. They also assist with prototype design, complete daily safety checklists, and help with training and housekeeping. Specific tasks include operating a Brake Press to form aluminum parts, a Shear to de-coil and cut aluminum, a Chop Saw to cut materials to length, a Router to cut parts from sheets, a Haul Press for aluminum braking, and a Plasma Cutter for part fabrication. The role also involves operating a Forklift to set up production materials and distribute finished parts. Bass Pro Shops is North America’s premier outdoor and conservation company, founded in 1972. It offers retail, outdoor equipment manufacturing, and resort destinations, and merged with Cabela’s in 2017. The company also operates White River Marine Group and Big Cedar Lodge, and is recognized for its conservation efforts.
Responsibilities
- Ensures smooth transition of jobs/ task.
- Helps organize work force.
- Maintains a constant production.
- Verifies quality and quantity of work is correct.
- Complete special projects as needed.
- Helps with prototype design.
- Completes daily safety checklist and ensures those checks aren't altered throughout the day.
- Fill in where needed and help with training and housekeeping.
- Brake Press- Locate material, form aluminum parts, stack on skid, and distribute.
- Shear- De-coil aluminum, cut to block size, and write route cards.
- Chop Saw- Read the router card, cut certain lengths, and stack for distribution.
- Router- Locate pattern, count out the correct number of sheets, router the parts, and distribute the cut parts.
- Haul Press- Grab newly cut haul, place in the haul press, put desired brakes in the aluminum, and place the finished product on the table.
- Plasma Cutter- Key in which parts are to be ran and then watch to make sure nothing is wrong with the process.
- Forklift Operator- Sets up pallet tables and coils for normal production. Then takes finished parts to their designated areas.
