About The Position

The Parts Driver is responsible for picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors. This role also involves assisting the parts department with stocking and posting orders, maintaining the professional appearance of the department, and potentially assisting the service department with customer car drop-off and pick-up. The Parts Driver is also responsible for the basic maintenance and cleanliness of the delivery truck and adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the USA.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.

Responsibilities

  • Picking up and delivering parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
  • Checking with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Checking with the body shop each day to determine immediate parts needs.
  • Delivering parts to body shop when needed and distributing to appropriate body technicians.
  • Verifying that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
  • Checking payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
  • Keeping an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, requesting recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
  • Unloading truck each night and turning in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
  • Handling basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
  • Advising parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
  • Helping maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Assisting service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars.
  • Helping with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
  • Maintaining professional appearance.
  • Following all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately reporting any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
