Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively with customers or other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Parts Specialist Certification
  • Valid Driver's License required; must meet company insurability standards
  • Regularly required to stand and walk.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and pick up parts and equipment for the dealership.
  • Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
  • Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
  • Verify that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
  • Verify parts on customer invoice match delivery.
  • Check payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
  • Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups.
  • Obtain recipient’s signature on each delivery entry.
  • Unload truck each night.
  • Turn in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed.
  • Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
  • Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
  • Ask customers at each stop if they have anything to return including any core inventory.
  • Pull parts for delivery routes and load trucks/vans for deliveries.
  • Assist with shipping/receiving as needed.
  • Work in a team environment.

  • Must be able to drive across county and state lines
