About The Position

Ascendance Truck Centers is a commercial truck sales and leasing dealership offering a team-oriented culture, paid training, and opportunities for career advancement. The Parts Delivery Driver delivers parts to customers and picks up parts from suppliers for the dealership. The role also supports parts department operations and maintains the delivery truck and a professional appearance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to perform arithmetic using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
• Coordinate last-minute pickups and deliveries with the parts manager or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving.
• Verify payments received against invoices for each delivery.
• Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pickups and obtain the recipient’s signature for each delivery entry.
• Load the vehicle with the appropriate parts for deliveries.
• Perform basic truck maintenance, including fueling, checking oil, keeping the truck clean, and ensuring required inspections are performed.
• Notify the parts manager when delivery trucks need major repairs or maintenance.
• Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department and maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Help process stock orders when they arrive to expedite delivery.
