About The Position

The Parts Counterperson provided exceptional service at the parts counter, assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts to our service technicians. Your role will involve maintaining optimal inventory levels, collaborating with vendors, and staying informed about the latest automotive advancements.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in automotive dealership parts department
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide excellent assistance
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and their applications
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
  • Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR

Responsibilities

  • Picking up and delivering parts
  • Carrying out jobs and/or assignments set forth by the department manager
  • Administering internal procedures and reports
  • Checking with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries
  • Checking with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs
  • Delivering parts to body shop and distribute parts to technicians
  • Verifying invoice match purchase order for each pick-up
  • Checking payments received with the invoices for each delivery
  • Keeping an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups and collect signatures on each delivery entry
  • Unloading deliveries and turn in paperwork and undelivered parts
  • Handling basic maintenance of the delivery truck (filling tank with gas, checking oil, organization)
  • Advising parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance
  • Assisting service department with attendant responsibilities (managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars)
  • Helping with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts
  • Following all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately reporting any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor
