The Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing exceptional service at the parts counter, assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts to service technicians. This role involves maintaining optimal inventory levels, collaborating with vendors, and staying informed about the latest automotive advancements. The Parts Counterperson will also administer internal procedures and reports, check with the parts manager and other relevant personnel before leaving to coordinate pick-ups or deliveries, and check with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs. Additionally, they will deliver parts to the body shop, distribute parts to technicians, verify invoices against purchase orders, check payments received with invoices, and keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. This role also includes unloading deliveries, turning in paperwork and undelivered parts, handling basic maintenance of the delivery truck, advising the parts manager of needed repairs, assisting the service department with attendant responsibilities, and helping with stocking and posting orders. Safety policies and procedures must be followed, and all accidents must be reported immediately.
