About The Position

Ocean Mazda Doral is seeking an experienced, organized, and customer-focused Automotive Parts Counter Person to join our Parts Department. The Parts Counter Person plays an important role in supporting the daily operation of our Service Department by ensuring technicians and Service Advisors receive the correct parts quickly and accurately. This position may also assist retail and wholesale customers with parts inquiries, orders, and purchases. We are looking for someone who understands dealership parts operations, works well in a fast-paced environment, and takes ownership of accuracy, organization, and follow-through.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive parts experience required.
  • Experience using electronic automotive parts catalogs.
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, terminology, and basic vehicle systems.
  • Ability to accurately identify and order automotive parts.
  • Strong computer and data-entry skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians, Service Advisors, managers, vendors, and customers.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to lift and move automotive parts and perform the physical requirements of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Franchise dealership parts experience strongly preferred.
  • Mazda parts experience is a plus.
  • CDK experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Service Technicians and Service Advisors with identifying and obtaining required parts.
  • Accurately identify parts using electronic parts catalogs and dealership systems.
  • Pull, stage, and distribute parts for repair orders.
  • Provide accurate parts pricing and availability information.
  • Process parts requests accurately and efficiently.
  • Order parts that are not currently in stock.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding and backordered parts.
  • Process and track special-order parts.
  • Notify the appropriate department or customer when special-order parts arrive.
  • Assist retail and wholesale customers with parts inquiries and purchases.
  • Prepare accurate parts quotes, invoices, and related documentation.
  • Receive incoming parts shipments and verify quantities and part numbers.
  • Properly stock and organize incoming inventory.
  • Process parts returns and credits according to established procedures.
  • Assist with warranty parts retention and returns as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts transactions.
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory.
  • Identify and report inventory discrepancies to Parts Management.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient Parts Department.
  • Coordinate with Service Advisors and technicians regarding parts availability and delays.
  • Maintain knowledge of Mazda OEM parts, accessories, and applicable manufacturer programs.
  • Follow established procedures for inventory control and parts security.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, technicians, advisors, vendors, and management.
  • Follow company policies, manufacturer requirements, and dealership safety procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager.
  • Respond promptly to technician parts requests.
  • Accurately identify the correct part the first time.
  • Communicate immediately when a part is unavailable or backordered.
  • Follow up on outstanding orders rather than waiting for someone to ask.
  • Keep technicians and Service Advisors informed of significant parts delays.
  • Stage parts efficiently when appropriate.
  • Help minimize unnecessary delays in the repair process.
  • Verify part numbers and quantities before completing transactions.
  • Properly charge parts to the correct repair order or account.
  • Avoid removing parts from inventory without proper documentation.
  • Return unused parts to the correct inventory location.
  • Maintain organized shelves and storage areas.
  • Report inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Follow established procedures for special orders, returns, cores, and warranty parts.
  • Help protect dealership inventory from loss or damage.
