About The Position

The Parts Counterperson is responsible for providing exceptional service at the parts counter, assisting customers with inquiries, processing orders, and ensuring the seamless flow of parts to service technicians. This role involves maintaining optimal inventory levels, collaborating with vendors, and staying informed about the latest automotive advancements. The Parts Counterperson will also administer internal procedures and reports, pick up and deliver parts, and assist the service department with attendant responsibilities.

Requirements

1+ years of experience in automotive dealership parts department.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and provide excellent assistance.
Knowledge of automotive parts and their applications.
Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Must be willing to undergo pre-employment compliance requirements: Drug testing, background check, MVR.

Nice To Haves

Experienced parts counter person.
CDK knowledge is preferred.
Honda experience a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service by assisting customers at the parts counter, addressing inquiries, and offering expert advice on parts selection.
Handle phone inquiries and provide information on parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
Efficiently and accurately process parts orders, ensuring timely delivery to customers and service technicians.
Collaborate with vendors and maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing parts shipments.
Monitor and maintain adequate levels of inventory to meet customer demand.
Conduct regular stock checks, reconcile discrepancies, and update inventory records in the dealership's system.
Utilize technical knowledge to assist customers and service technicians in identifying the correct parts for repairs and maintenance.
Stay informed about new products and advancements in automotive parts to provide up-to-date information.
Handle cash and process payments accurately, providing customers with receipts for transactions.
Collaborate with the service and sales departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination of parts orders.
Pick up and deliver parts as assigned by the department manager.
Administer internal procedures and reports.
Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people, or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last minute pick-ups or deliveries.
Check with the body shop to determine immediate parts needs.
Deliver parts to body shop and distribute parts to technicians.
Verify invoice match purchase order for each pick-up.
Check payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups and collect signatures on each delivery entry.
Unload deliveries and turn in paperwork and undelivered parts.
Handle basic maintenance of the delivery truck (filling tank with gas, checking oil, organization).
Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
Assist service department with attendant responsibilities (managing the drop-off and pick-up of customers' cars).
Help with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
Follow all company safety policies and procedures, and immediately report any and all accidents to a manager or supervisor.
