About The Position

Seekins Ford is recruiting a Parts Counterperson to assist retail and wholesale customers with ordering and supplying parts, fulfilling orders, and stocking inventory. The role involves working with customers and service technicians to identify and order parts for vehicle repairs and upgrades. The Parts Counterperson also packs and organizes parts for shipping and follows an established system for stocking inventory. This is a full-time, in-person position with a 45-hour work week and an alternating Saturday schedule. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturdays, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. A supervisor schedules breaks and lunch periods based on workflow. Pay is DOE.

Requirements

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Valid driver’s license.
Two to three years in an automotive parts environment preferred.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds using proper ergonomics.
Ability to meet the listed physical requirements and work in the described conditions.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service by greeting customers, listening to inquiries and requests, clarifying their needs, and supplying parts in a timely manner.
Read catalogs and computer diagrams to determine replacement part numbers and pricing.
Determine required replacement parts by inspecting old parts or reviewing customer requests and descriptions of malfunctions.
Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
Fill customer orders from inventory.
Take payments or obtain credit authorizations.
Recommend related parts that customers may need.
Take inventory of stock.
Advise customers of superseded part numbers when original stock numbers are unavailable.
Examine returned parts for defects or damage and exchange defective parts or refund money in accordance with company returns policy.
Work with customers and service technicians to order parts for vehicle repairs and upgrades.
Pack and organize parts for shipping and stock inventory according to an established system.
