About The Position
Auto Electric Service Ltd. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Parts Counter Specialist to join their Yorkton team. This role involves being the first point of contact for customers, providing expert advice, product knowledge, and outstanding service. The specialist will assist customers over the counter and by phone, help them find the right parts for their vehicles or equipment, support merchandising initiatives, and contribute to a clean, organized, and professional store environment. The company has over 80 years of experience serving various markets and is southern Saskatchewan’s largest locally owned and operated automotive parts warehouse.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Proficiency with computers and POS systems
- Friendly, professional, and sales-oriented demeanor
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends
Nice To Haves
- Automotive knowledge or experience an asset
- Industrial, agricultural, or paint knowledge is a plus
- Proven experience in retail, customer service, or automotive parts sales preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and inventory
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and sales-focused manner
- Sell parts, provide quotes, and advise customers on product options and compatibility
- Assist customers in selecting required parts, suggesting companion products when appropriate
- Process payments accurately and efficiently via POS, cash, debit, or credit transactions
- Handle returns and warranty items
- Participate in merchandising and visual display initiatives to enhance product visibility
- Ensure overall cleanliness and organization of the store, displays, and outside areas
- Protect and maintain the security of store assets
- Stay up to date on new products, industry innovations, and company promotions
