The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for selling parts to all customers, whether over the counter, through the shop, or via phone. This role involves assisting customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, informing them of companion part requirements and product lines, and handling incoming phone calls and counter inquiries. The associate will also provide price quotes, review body shop estimates to ensure correct parts and pricing, pull and fill orders from stock, and notify the parts manager of out-of-stock items. Additionally, they will inform necessary parties when special ordered parts arrive, ensure all parts are tagged correctly, follow department policies for special orders, follow up on back-ordered parts, and replenish inventory daily. Maintaining a timely flow of paperwork, ensuring internal requests are billed correctly, and verifying will-call and back-order files weekly are also key responsibilities. The role includes receiving payments, assisting outside sales representatives, and maintaining a professional image and demeanor.
