About The Position

The Parts Counter Clerk is responsible for assisting customers and technicians in obtaining the necessary parts for repairs and maintenance. This role involves managing inventory, processing orders, and providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in automotive technology is a plus.
  • Previous experience in a parts counter role or automotive retail is preferred.
  • Familiarity with automotive parts and systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management systems.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and carry parts weighing up to 100lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks requiring physical activity.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and determine their parts needs.
  • Provide accurate information on parts availability, pricing, and compatibility.
  • Assist customers with special orders and follow up on outstanding requests.
  • Process parts orders, including receiving, stocking, and inventory control.
  • Maintain accurate records of parts sales and inventory levels.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as necessary to maintain optimal inventory.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist technicians in identifying and sourcing the correct parts for repairs.
  • Stay updated on new products, tools, and equipment in the automotive industry.
  • Upsell parts and accessories to customers as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support promotions and marketing initiatives.
