The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for selling parts to all customers, whether over the counter, through the shop, or via phone. This role involves assisting customers in selecting required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner, informing them of companion part requirements, and ensuring they are aware of the full product line. The associate will handle incoming phone calls and counter inquiries, providing price quotes and other necessary information. Additionally, they will review body shop estimates to ensure accurate parts ordering and pricing, pull and fill orders from stock, and notify the parts manager of any out-of-stock items or needed shop materials. Responsibilities also include tagging parts with customer names and job numbers, managing special orders according to department policy, following up on back-ordered parts, and replenishing inventory daily. The role requires efficient processing of paperwork, ensuring all internal requests are billed on service repair orders, and verifying will-call and back-order files weekly. Payment collection and credit authorization are also part of the duties, as is assisting outside sales representatives with their orders.
