Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Mechanical knowledge or repair experience
Basic computer skills
Ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
Demonstrated attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
Ability to work extended hours while standing
Good job performance and attendance records

Nice To Haves

2 years industry experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

Promotes safety and conducts him/herself in accordance with all safety guidelines at all times.
Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.
Determines if inventory quantities are sufficient for needs, ordering more materials when necessary.
Responds to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
Performs buying duties when necessary.
Contacts suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
Reviews requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
Prepares, maintains, and reviews purchasing files, reports and price lists.
Compares prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best bid among potential suppliers.
Tracks the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
Calculates costs of orders, and charges or forwards invoices to appropriate accounts.
Maintains inventory for all parts.
