About The Position

The purpose of this position is to pick up and deliver motor parts and supplies, and assist in ordering, stocking, and taking inventory of parts for the Fleet Services Department. This role involves processing orders, assisting with parts and supply logistics, providing parts to mechanics, managing inventory levels, maintaining organization and cleanliness of storage areas, processing documentation, and utilizing computer systems for various tasks. The position requires effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and may involve working flexible hours.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of related experience in customer service, inventory maintenance, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of local government operations, fleet services related programs, policies and plans, and modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other similar programs.
  • Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to meet and deal with employees and the public in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Ability to get along with others, and work effectively with the public and co-workers.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines.
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive matters.
  • Ability to work with and process payments for accounts within the budget and department.
  • Ability to use computers for data entry, word processing, and accounting purposes.
  • Ability to operate a copying machine.

Responsibilities

  • Processes orders for parts, supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Assists in picking up and delivering supplies and parts to the parts room.
  • Provides requested parts and supplies to mechanics and references service manuals to identify correct parts for work orders.
  • Stocks parts, supplies, and tools; organizes inventory items.
  • Monitors inventory levels and maintains adequate stock levels.
  • Completes inventory reports and related records.
  • Stocks and cleans the parts room.
  • Assists supervisor in issuing parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Helps fill work orders for parts/supplies from inventory.
  • Helps pull stock to fill work orders.
  • Helps maintain logs/records of all materials checked out or issued.
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of storage areas.
  • Performs general cleaning/housekeeping tasks associated with maintaining warehouse and work areas.
  • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations.
  • Operates a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing various software.
  • Operates general office or other equipment as necessary.
  • Communicates with supervisor, other employees, vendors, and other individuals as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
