About The Position
The Parts Counter Associate is responsible for assisting mechanics and customers with purchasing needs for parts and supplies. This role involves tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for the dealership, handling parts payment collection, and ensuring all parts are billed correctly through the service department and collision repair. The associate will also be responsible for packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer, completing appropriate record keeping, and using parts manuals to identify the correct parts for vehicles being serviced. Additionally, the position requires providing high-quality customer service, answering phone calls, notifying relevant personnel about part status, and assisting with putting away orders.
Requirements
- Experience in the automotive Parts Field
- Customer service and organization skills

- Familiarity with the vehicle products is preferred, but not required
- CDK Knowledge and Experience is preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for dealership
- Handling parts payment collection and making sure all parts are billed correctly through service department and collision repair
- Packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer
- Completing appropriate record keeping; including tagging all parts with customer name and job number for easy reference
- Referring to parts manual (hard copy & electronic format) to identify exactly the right parts for the make, model, and year of vehicles being serviced
- Providing highest quality of customer service
- Answering phone calls providing price quotes and other information
- Notifying Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or materials that need immediate attention
- Notifying Service Advisor and/or Customer when specialty parts have been received
- Notifying the Body Shops when all parts have been arrived and when they will be delivered
- Assisting in putting all order away in a timely manner
- Following up on backordered parts
- Other duties assigned by the Parts Manager
