About The Position

As a Parts Advisor at Martin Equipment, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining our parts stock and ensuring timely delivery of equipment parts to shop mechanics, customers, and other Martin locations. The ideal candidate will possess the potential to grow into a future leader, taking on increasing levels of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office for email and Internet for product searching and data entry.
  • Basic understanding of office machines, including copier, fax, and printer.
  • Excellent face-to-face and phone communication skills.
  • Good listening skills and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks with a sense of urgency and within time constraints.
  • Able to take direction and ask questions.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn Dealworks, EQUIP, and Service Advisor (training available).
  • Ability to operate a forklift and drive a pickup truck.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per company policy.
  • Willing to work hard, enjoy the atmosphere, and do whatever it takes for the company and customers.
  • Must limit time on personal cell phone; focus on the job and the customer.
  • Extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Occasional periods of driving.
  • Some climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, squatting, twisting, pulling, and pushing as required by tasks.
  • Ability to lift, manipulate, and move items repeatedly, up to 50 pounds.
  • Not afraid to get a little dirty from handling parts.
  • Operation of a personal computer and other office equipment.
  • Available to work extended hours during the week and weekends on a rotation or when needed (as required by location).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction parts is a plus.
  • A strong passion for parts, assisting customers, and doing a good job is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inquiries about replacement parts and availability, providing exceptional service and support.
  • Keep the department organized, ensuring parts are easily accessible and stored safely.
  • Assist co-workers at the other eight stores in locating necessary parts, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Provide technicians with parts from inventory.
  • Look up parts and answer questions.
  • Order or pull parts as needed.
  • Make hydraulic hoses.
  • Put away daily stock orders.
  • Help branches find parts.
  • Maintain order and safety.
  • Handle purchase orders, invoices, and returns.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Follow company policies.
  • Support the safety program.
  • Attend store meetings.
  • Assist as needed with shipping and receiving.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
