About The Position

Partnership and Development Specialist The Opportunity: The right mixture of great ideas and funding can create change. In a complex organization, allocating funding to where it can be most effective can be challenging. That’s why we need you, a financial analyst who can easily navigate the requirements, policies, and regulations that govern funding, to make sure the U.S. Army resources can make the most impact. As a Partnership and Development Specialist on our team, you’ll create a financial management strategy to help our investments team succeed. You’ll work with project management, team leads, accelerators, and stakeholders to develop an actionable plan for your client to secure the funding needed to achieve their goals. Using your knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies, you’ll help your client develop well-formed requirements. Once the funding is in place, you’ll make sure the funding is used efficiently through consistent tracking and communication with directors, project management, and relevant stakeholders. This is your chance to work on high-level investment analysis and partnership development while imparting your financial analysis expertise to your team. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as an investment associate in private equity, venture capital, or investment banking
  • Experience preparing due diligence reports, financial models, or investment memos for decision-makers
  • Experience in investor relations or deal promotion
  • Experience with tools such as Excel, FactSet, or PitchBook
  • Knowledge of deal structuring supporting early- to mid-stage startups and technology companies
  • Ability to value businesses, identify funding trends, and construct and analyze investment portfolios
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in private sector investment analysis or partnership development
  • Experience with the startup ecosystem, business development, or venture capital relationships
  • Experience coordinating deal execution, including structuring funding mechanisms such as contracts or grants
  • Knowledge of federal funding regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
  • Ability to prepare investment decks for internal approvals or external pitches
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports on funding patterns and implications for public-private partnerships
  • Ability to build defensible cost models and perform risk assessments such as Cost-Benefit Analysis or Life Cycle Costing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Financial Modeling & Valuation Analyst (FMVA) or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Certification
  • Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
