Technical Partnerships Solutions

Clay LabsNew York, NY
$130,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Clay is seeking a Partner Technical Engineer to join its Data & Integration Partnerships team. This role is crucial for maintaining the technical quality of data providers and ensuring new partners are technically ready before going live on Clay's data marketplace. The position involves defining testing methodologies, building test kits and scoring models for data providers, and assessing the technical readiness of prospective partners, including their delivery methods, authentication patterns, rate limits, and data structures. The role requires collaboration with internal teams (Data, Product, Engineering, Partnerships) and external partner technical teams, working with partners like Salesforce, HubSpot, and various data enrichment providers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role (software engineering, solutions engineering, technical partnerships, or similar) working with partnerships, integrations, marketplace and/or ecosystems.
  • Deep familiarity with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and modern integration patterns.
  • Experience building data quality frameworks, testing pipelines, or evaluation methodologies.
  • Proven ability to navigate third-party APIs and dense partner technical documentation.
  • Comfort with data analysis, including the ability to write SQL, build dashboards, and extract insights from messy datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Self-starter mentality with a high tolerance for ambiguity and rapid context-switching.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience running structured technical vetting or readiness assessments for partner integrations.
  • Background in data enrichment, GTM tools (Clay!), or the broader RevTech ecosystem.
  • Prior experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and modern sales/marketing tech stacks.
  • Experience using or building on Clay.
  • Prior partnerships or business development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for the partnerships team, joining prospective partner meetings from day 0 to design the joint solution.
  • Prototype integration concepts to assess feasibility within live partner conversations.
  • Design the 'build' partner motion on Clay's public API and MCP.
  • Translate partner and customer feedback into roadmap priorities for Product and Engineering, and provide GTM teams with resources for RFPs and POCs on new integrations.
  • Own the evaluation system for provider integration, waterfall placement, and ranking.
  • Define the end-to-end testing methodology with the Data team, including standard test kits, scoring models, and re-evaluation cadence for over 200 providers.
  • Own and maintain the accuracy of public data tests for phone, work email, and personal email.
  • Prioritize the partner roadmap based on coverage gaps in geography and data type.
  • Feed test results into margin, tiering, and badging decisions for the provider portfolio.
  • Build and automate the technical readiness assessment for prospective partners.
  • Score partners at intake and collaborate with Partner Development to unblock or disqualify them early.
  • Scope integrations (endpoints, auth, fields, cost-per-call) before contracts are signed.
  • Certify partners as launch-ready and conduct pre-launch technical checks.
  • Monitor integration health, API performance, and data quality post-launch, resolving complex issues with partner technical teams.
  • Write technical documentation and implementation guides for partner developers.

Benefits

  • World-class coaches specializing in creativity, management, and more.
  • Community equity round for customers, agency partners, and club members.
