About The Position

Oliver Wyman Actuarial is seeking a Partner to lead complex, large, or highly-customized client engagements within the Life practice. This role unifies actuarial, operations, and AI capabilities, shaping operating models and technology solutions to expand transformation offerings beyond core actuarial and design strategy to include system modernization, data platforms, and distribution technology. The Partner will manage overall service delivery and strategy, provide high-level review of data analyses conducted by junior staff, oversee client contact and management, and coach junior staff in client interactions. This role is also responsible for driving business development by identifying growth areas and leading proposal efforts to meet revenue goals. The Partner will review and deliver client reports and presentations, drive project management best practices, and monitor industry trends to develop intellectual capital.

Requirements

  • Highest professional qualifications in actuarial science.
  • Nationally recognized as an expert in the field.
  • Proficiency in mathematical and statistical modeling skills.
  • Experience in evaluating and addressing risk using qualitative assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to provide independent, objective advice in the areas of healthcare, life and annuity, and property and casualty risk.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, large, or highly-customized client engagements within Oliver Wyman Actuarial’s Life practice.
  • Manage overall service delivery and strategy for client engagements.
  • Provide high level review of data analyses conducted by junior staff members to ensure actuarial soundness, correct use of models or products, and to assist in the development of junior staff members.
  • Oversee client contact/management to resolve project-related questions and challenges.
  • Coach junior staff members in client interactions.
  • Drive business development by identifying potential areas of business growth in existing projects.
  • Lead proposal efforts and respond to requests for information in order to meet revenue goals.
  • Review and deliver client reports or presentations that summarize findings and implications, and recommend a strategy or solution to the client.
  • Drive project management best practices and provide timely direction and guidance to ensure deadlines and service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor industry trends and participate in development of intellectual capital in order to further develop the company's service and product offerings and recognition in the life insurance industry.
