About The Position

This is a temporary position focused on supporting volunteer engagement events and delivering campaign materials. The role involves direct interaction with volunteers, partners, and corporate contacts, requiring a professional and customer-service oriented approach. The associate will be responsible for logistical support at events, material delivery to various worksites across LA County, and representing the organization positively in all interactions.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Comfortable with in-person, field-based work across LA County, including retail and corporate worksites
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and good DMV record required
Able to lift and carry event materials and supplies (up to 50 lbs) for short distances
Warm, professional demeanor with strong external customer service and CSR-facing values
Reliable and punctual; available for occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours based on the event calendar

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or events strongly preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

Assist with set-up, tabling, and breakdown at corporate volunteer engagement events
Transport, load, and unload event materials and supplies to and from event sites
Provide friendly, professional, customer-facing support to volunteers, partners, and attendees on-site
Carry out day-of event logistics as directed by Partner Engagement staff
Deliver employee giving campaign materials to Workplace Ambassadors at corporate worksites, including retail store locations
Confirm material drop-off with worksite contacts and communicate professionally and courteously
Track delivery locations, quantities, and dates as directed by the Manager
Represent United Way of Greater Los Angeles professionally and positively in every external interaction
Respond to routine questions from ambassadors and attendees with warmth and accuracy
Escalate partner-relationship or judgment-call questions to the Partner Engagement Manager
Reflect UWGLA's mission and brand in tone, appearance, and conduct at all times
