About The Position

CWI Works is recruiting for a Partner Account Specialist position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program, specifically for individuals aged 55 or older. This role operates at the National Vehicle and Fuel Emissions Laboratory, managed by the Environmental Protection Agency in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The program aims to assist businesses in evaluating and enhancing their supply chain energy efficiency, thereby reducing fuel costs and harmful emissions. As a SmartWay Partner Account Specialist, you will engage directly with partners, including shippers, major logistics companies, trucking firms, and other freight carriers, to guide them in various aspects of the SmartWay program.

Requirements

  • Must be 55 years of age or older.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal Background check.
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree, ideally in a technical, engineering, business, or related field, or several years of on-the-job training and experience, or a combination of the two.
  • Solid working familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience in professional communications.

Nice To Haves

  • Working familiarity with data entry/review and other database-related functions.
  • Experience working in freight movement/operations (e.g., transportation supply chains, trucking operations, transportation logistics).
  • Data quality assurance.
  • Customer relations.
  • Expertise in freight transportation (truck, rail, barge, air, ocean vessel, multimodal).
  • Expertise in advanced Excel.
  • Expertise in database programming.

Responsibilities

  • Complete annual partner data submissions, including reviewing data for accuracy while maintaining sensitive business information.
  • Help partners understand SmartWay outputs and reports based on their provided information.
  • Assist partners in benchmarking and tracking their freight transportation operational efficiency.
  • Explore strategies with partners to improve efficiency.
  • Conduct conversations with program partner representatives, responding to requests for technical information about SmartWay and energy efficiency improvements.
  • Perform data entry and analysis, reviewing and evaluating performance data for accuracy.
  • Train newer SEE staff joining the Partner Account Specialist team.
  • Collaborate with other team members on partner opportunities for awards.
  • Present program structure, goals, strategies, data trends, and partner achievements in reducing their environmental footprint through various formats (phone calls, emails, meetings, conference calls, webinars, etc.).
  • Propose strategies for improving program effectiveness.
  • Recommend ways to improve partner experience and ease of use.
  • Assess and troubleshoot issues with program materials.
  • Address other factors affecting program success.
