About The Position

Penn State Schuylkill, located in Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, is a member of the USCAA and Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC), and is accepting applications for the part time Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball Team. This part-time position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the Women's Volleyball program, including evaluating and recruiting academically qualified and talented student-athletes.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Coaching or playing experience at the high school level.
• Proficient communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with student-athletes, coaches, administrators, and staff.
• Knowledge of USCAA and PSUAC student-athlete and institutional compliance rules and rules governing the play of various games.
• Event and personnel management experience.
• This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
• This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• Collegiate coaching experience.

Responsibilities

• In charge of all practice and competition coaching.
• In charge of the recruitment of academically qualified and skilled student-athletes.
• In charge of arranging weekly practice schedules on the court.
• Provide vision and leadership to create a positive team culture.
• Provide feedback for the Director of Athletics to nominate and select weekly/season conference and national awards.
• In charge of the development of opportunities to participate in service activities and encourage participation in community service.
• Use these opportunities to teach life lessons about respect, hard work, the value of education, and service to others.
