About The Position

The Assistant Volleyball Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Volleyball Coach in the overall coordination and execution of the University of Louisville’s Division I intercollegiate Volleyball program, including identifying and recruiting qualified student-athletes, practice and game preparation, coaching, and promoting an atmosphere of compliance within the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sport Administration or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of coaching experience with a collegiate or professional volleyball program or four (4) years of NCAA Division I volleyball playing experience.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Ability to work a non-standard work week, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overnight travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience playing the sport at a Division I collegiate and/or professional level.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the skills of student-athletes, assist in preparing practice plans, and implement practice plans.
  • Organize, prepare, and conduct individual and team practice sessions to train and prepare for competition and instruct student-athletes in techniques of the sport.
  • Prepare scouting reports on all opponents.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes.
  • Promote an atmosphere of compliance within the program through strict adherence to NCAA, ACC, and university rules and regulations through monitoring of program activities, active involvement, and commitment to continuous rules education, timely submission of compliance-related documents, and immediate reporting of any knowledge of potential rules violations involving self or others.
