About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Custodian at Youngker High School, working up to 20 hours per week, exclusively on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) from 6:00 am to 4:30 pm. The role involves ensuring a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient environment for students. The custodian will work alone and is expected to be comfortable with this arrangement. Wage is determined by the Classified Salary Schedule, with experience being a consideration. The custodian reports to the Plant Foreman.

Requirements

Less than a high school diploma
MSDS and blood born pathogens training
Less than one year experience in custodial work is preferred
Ability to communicate and work well with staff, parents and children.
Vacuum Cleaning
Chemicals
General hand tools
Must be comfortable and able to work alone.
Ability to wear respirator and gloves as needed

Responsibilities

May be required to alter working hours to perform regular assigned duties
Deliver equipment and supplies
Cleans restrooms as needed
Setting-up and taking-down of all school-related activities and events.
Moves furniture and equipment as needed
Raises the United States Flag before school and retires the flag after school hours.
Report’s safety hazards and the need for major and minor repairs.
Keeps grounds free rubbish.
Sweeps, vacuums, dusts, and empty trash as needed.
Cleans corridors, when warranted, during the day.
Assists the maintenance technician.
Assists with securing the buildings
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Communicate with Supervisor when problems occur.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
