About The Position

The Department of Philosophy at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a visiting part-time faculty position to teach two courses during the Fall semester to begin in August 2026. The candidate will need to teach one introductory course (Philosophical Inquiries) and a mid-level lecture in Philosophy and Literature.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, undergraduate teaching.
  • Demonstrate commitment to, and excellence in, inclusive pedagogies as informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
  • Submit a letter of application.
  • Submit a current curriculum vitae.
  • Submit a statement on teaching philosophy and interests.
  • Submit graduate transcripts.
  • Submit two confidential letters of recommendation.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one introductory course (Philosophical Inquiries - PHIL 110).
  • Teach a mid-level lecture in Philosophy and Literature (PHIL 246).
  • Contribute to and further the College’s mission as a Jesuit, undergraduate liberal arts college.
