About The Position

We are currently seeking part-time tutors for our GradePower Learning Southwest Austin location. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys teaching reading, writing, and math. We seek tutors who are passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas. Tutors at GradePower Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods. This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. In this position, you will play a key role in helping students develop their self-confidence and self-esteem. The rewards of helping children overcome academic hurdles and realize their inner potential can be very fulfilling. You will be rewarded with smiling faces and high-fives during every shift. GradePower Learning is a supplemental education provider helping students since 1984. Specializing in reading, writing, mathematics, and study skills for K-12 students, GradePower Learning uses the science of cognition to help all students develop stronger, lifelong learning skills.

Requirements

• Reliability is a must
• Must be able to commute to this location
• Bachelor’s degree, or specialization in math or language
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Nice To Haves

• Teaching certification or a portfolio of classroom or small group experience is preferred
• Some K-12 teaching/tutoring experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time on individualized lesson plans
• Following the GradePower Learning methodology
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
