About The Position

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND. As an Electronic Design Part-Time Student for John Deere ISG located in Fargo, ND, you will support engine control unit (ECU) development activities of varying technical complexity. You will apply foundational engineering knowledge to assist with testing, analysis, and basic circuit design activities. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, contributing to design discussions and participating in design reviews.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or another engineering discipline from an accredited engineering school; or others may apply
  • Must be a full-time student at a local university or college
  • Graduation date of Spring of 2027 or later
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8
  • Ability to understand and apply basic concepts in microprocessor-based embedded electronics, software, and mechanical packaging designs
  • Capability to perform routine engineering tasks using foundational technical knowledge, attention to detail, and critical thinking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical, technical approach
  • Self-motivated and dependable with good communication skills and a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Available to work 16-20 hours/week during the academic year
  • Available to work 30-40 hours/weeks during the summer
  • Must be able to commute to the work location in Fargo, ND on a regular basis.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
